Old Westeros Birthplace Charts

I created these birthplace charts years ago based on AGoT, when I was thinking of running a RoleMaster game for my local face-to-face group.

Someone might find them useful. When I get a chance I will clean them up and make them available as a pdf.

Eonia maps from an old Rolemaster campaign.

Back in 2002 or so, a friend of mine ran 2 Rolemaster campaign in a world he called Eonia. I found a small bit of map of his the other day and it re-kindled my interest in that old game. So I sent him an email to ask if he still had the maps (they were made in the original Campaign Cartographer software - so they were old).

Not only did he still have the files, he had a website he created for his personal use on the laptop he brought to the game sessions. Anyway, he sent me the files, and other than some names I don't care for, these maps are a thing of beauty. They show their age as far as computer mapping goes, but something about them really works for me.

So, if I ever run the new D&D, I will use the following map and the Forgotten Lands, and the city of Riverjun as the starting area. I don't know what scale he used, but for me, the hexes are 1 league (roughly 3 miles in my version of Eonia).

I will post more of his maps later, if anyone has any interest.

Detailed Map of the Rockford Area (Pits & Perils)

Here is a detailed map of the Rockford region, and the location of the Pit Perilous (campaign dungeon).

The Dreaded Perilous Pit

I recently bought Pits & Perils (which can be found here), and I have really fallen in love with the game mechanics. So, I started putting together a basic campaign pitch (centered around a dungeon, of course).

THE PERILOUS PIT (A PITS & PERILS CAMPAIGN)

CAMPAIGN INFORMATION DUMP
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the southern marches of Generika lies the small backwater village of Rockford. This hamlet straddles the broad river that flows out of the eastern hills. A border town, Rockford lies on the most extreme southern borderlands of the Blandish Kingdom. A small muddy track crosses the river Broad and trails away south towards the rocky hills of Sumotherland.

Directly across the river Broad lies the darkened Lichwood. A haunted forest shunned by the good-folk of Rockford. Legends tell of a haunted keep, called the Perilous Pit, which is located beneath those dark and gnarly trees. Many an adventurous soul has wandered south into the shade of those trees, never to be seen again. A few hardy souls have come crawling back with tales of foul beasts, and heaps of treasure there for the taking.

The lone inn of Rockford, the Broken Keg, is the gathering place for travellers upon the kings road as well as adventurers who would risk life and limb to gain the spoils of the Perilous Pit.

OTHER FACTS AVAILABLE TO PLAYERS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Church of Law is the major religious institution of Blandish.
The various dukes of Sumotherland are locked in constant warfare.
The Elves live away west in the Glorfindales, a forest of ancient trees.
The Dwarves live east in the Bearded Hills.
King Verios Bland IV rules the Blandish Kingdom.
The last alliance of Men, Elves, and Dwarfs defeated the Lich-King at the battle of Rockford at the end of the last age (over 500 years ago).
The Bishop, Pontificus the Pious is the head of the church.

PERILOUS PIT RUMORS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Lich-King controls the Undead of the Pit.
An Ancient Black Dragon rules the lower levels.
Bandits roam the Lichwood.
The Silver Daggers adventuring company never returned from the Pit.
The Lady of Stone rules the kobolds.
The bandit known as the Hawk Lord hides out in the Lichwood.
The Lich-King is an evil ancient elf from the Age of Dawn.
The Lich-King is demi-god, cursed with Undeath by the Lords of Law.
Orcs are undead-elves.

Orcs can only be destroyed by fire.
