IFC Samurai Saturday: March 28th

This week IFC is featuring "The Sword of Doom" a somewhat darker samurai movie. I have seen this one before and thought it was good. Not one of my favorites however. Here is a (very)_short synopsis:

In this epic Japanese samurai adventure, a bloodthirsty young fighter (Tatsuya Nakadai) kills a man in competition and is pursued by the slain warrior's brother.

  2. I really enjoyed Sword of Doom. I watched it a few years ago. Until now I'd never come across anyone else who had seen it. Got to love that ending.

  3. Hi Atom Kid, no this is not the Macbeth flick, that was Throne of Blood.

Ryan, it has been a while since I have seen this one and have forgotten the ending (will have to rewatch). I also forgot Toshiro Mifune was in it - pleasantly surprised by that. :)

  4. Okay, I get those two mixed up. I know Ran is based on King Lear though.
